Edmonton Veterinary Clinic will mark its move into a brand-new, purpose-built facility with a community Open Day at its new address, 179 Bruce Highway, Edmonton, running from 10am to 1pm on Saturday 17th October.

The clinic is relocating from its long-standing home at 80 Supply Road, Bentley Park, following significant growth since owners Selena and Jason took over the practice in October 2016. At that time, the clinic operated with just one vet and three nurses. Today, the team has expanded to five vets and ten nurses, prompting the move to larger, custom-built premises.

The new clinic features six consulting rooms, two surgery rooms, dedicated ultrasound and X-ray rooms, and separate hospital areas for cats, dogs and isolation cases. Larger breed dogs are catered for with dedicated dog runs, and on-site client parking has increased to nine spaces. The clinic continues to treat a range of domestic pets, including birds and reptiles, alongside cats and dogs.

While the location and facilities are new, the clinic's phone number — 4045 5555 — remains unchanged, along with its full team: Selena, Jason, Katja, Sabrina, Lachlan, Melissa, Stephanie, Lisa, Summer, Kayley, Jess, Judy, Heather, Kayla and Bella.

The Open Day will bring together clients, families and community groups to celebrate the milestone. Attractions will include a free sausage sizzle, snacks, face painting, prize draws for cats, dogs and exotic pets, spot prizes, a lucky door prize, and "Golden Ticket" vouchers hidden inside goodie bags.

Animal Care for Seniors at Home (ACSAH), a Cairns-based not-for-profit that helps senior residents care for their pets, will also attend with its own marquee to raise awareness of its work supporting the companionship pets provide to elderly community members.

Organisers are encouraging attendees to leave pets at home given the expected size of the crowd, citing safety and comfort for animals amid the anticipated foot traffic and activity on site.

Clinic representatives describe the new premises as reflecting more than a decade of growth and community relationships built since 2016, with the space designed to support continued delivery of veterinary medicine and surgery services as the practice expands.
